From Scratch Kuchen
Crust
2 TB Butter
1 Egg+Milk to fill 1/2 Cup
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 1/4 Cup Flour
1 TSP Baking Powder
1/2 TSP Salt
Filling
4 Cups Fruit (apple, raspberry, juneberry or rhubarb) Sliced
1/2 Cup White Sugar
1 TB Flour
Custard
1 Egg
1/2 Cup White Sugar
2 TB Cream
Sprinkle of Cinnamon
Bake 350 degrees for 20 minutes
Reduce to 325 degrees for 20-30 minutes
I used a shallow pie plate for this recipe. You could also use a spring form pan.
For Crust
Mix dry ingredients, add butter, beat egg slightly and add the milk; combine. Press 1/4" thick into pan.
For The Filling
Mix the fruit with 1/2 Cup sugar and 1 TB flour.
For The Custard
Beat egg, sugar and cream together and pour over the fruit. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees, reduce heat to 325 degrees for 20-30 minutes longer or until center is set.
